Greater Philadelphia Entrepreneur Mentoring Program

Husband and wife duo James and Kristin Smith, co-founders of Smith Flooring, are working with their mentor to enhance their current business model to maximize their operations efficiency.

In September 2011, the Clinton Economic Opportunity Initiative (CEO) launched its second round of the Greater Philadelphia Entrepreneur Mentoring Program (EMP). CEO worked with many local organizations to develop and launch the Greater Philadelphia EMP including the Enterprise Center, the Pennsylvania Minority Business Enterprise Center (PA-MBEC), the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, the Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and Mayor Nutter’s Office. Our partners provide an array of services to small businesses including access to capital, capacity building, business education, and economic development opportunities. Through mentorships, the Philadelphia EMP looks to build on the services provided by our partnering organizations to support the continued growth of these high potential businesses. This round of the EMP is comprised of diverse entrepreneurs and mentors providing business services in a wide range of industries such as manufacturing, construction, consulting, and environmental engineering and remediation.
